Does /ck/ have any good beginner tips/recipes for grilling? I've never had consistent access to one until now and I wanna give it a shot.

Pull your pants down and allow a swarm of stinging insects to begin their work.

Begin the feeding.

I went through this this summer, since I was visiting my grandparents a lot.

>make sure you get a scrubber to keep your shit clean
>get good at positioning your coals to control heat, basically setting up hotter and colder areas for you to put shit with different cook temps
>give yourself ample time to let it heat up, at first I struggled because I was always grilling too cold
>anything that drips has a chance to kick ash up from the coals and onto the food, so be careful when moving or placing drippy foods.

that's basically it. I'm still a pleb griller, only using basic charcoal on simple recipes, but I'm def much better than I was.

Thank you anon, I had no idea about coal distribution so that saves me a fuckup.

Have you tried steaks yet? I figured I'd either start with those or burgers, with grilled corn as a side.

Yeah, I find steaks surprisingly easy. Just get your shit hot, throw marinated steaks on there, cook, flip, cook. If you want more doneness, slide it over to the cold part of your grill and let it chill till you're temping right.
