OP UPDATE: apologies. i got home and my very old dog (the one with red hair) has been sick the past week and my girlfriend found him in a corner unresponsive and barely breathing. i took him to the vet and just got home. i'm supposed to come back in tomorrow morning and they'll give him a quality of life check to see if we should put him down.
dinner was delicious but sadly ruined. anyway here's what i got

this was like a spicy green and red paste, hard to describe
