I normally hate chain restaurants but there's something about the roadhouse.
The tacky decor and country music, the peanuts you can throw on the floor, the bread rolls with cinnamon butter, the steak fries and margaritas. Steaks are pretty decent too.

The steaks are usually decent when they don't pick a super greasy piece. They cook them correctly as well.
Everything else is garbage though. The sides are garbage, and also the sauce they use. Nothing will ever beat a proper reduction sauce made from scratch, which isn't something you can get at that price point.

Texas Roadhouse was started in the midwest. It's their version of what they think Texas is. As a Texan I'm actually kind of flattered because they do their thing so well (providing a good value for a big "Texas-sized" meal). The one near me in North Fort Worth was always packed pre-covid and is now as packed as they're allowed to be.
