BBQ restaraunts are expensive as fuck.
$16 for half a slab of ribs.
$22 for a full slab of ribs that should cost $5 at the store.

It's easy to cook yourself.

Why do people love these places/

They literally just serve the cheapest meats. chicken, rib, pulled pork for fuck sake, brisket, and smoked sausage!

This picture costs more than (ribs are extra) $21.50 pre tax, and pre tip

went out for bbq when visiting nashville and i felt fucking ripped off, even a cheap meat and three felt like extortion. i live in an apartment but would love to find a way to smoke meats other than going to a family friend's place for special occasions

Live in the northeast usa where bbq restaurants arent all over the place. We had one in my town and it closed down pretty fast. Someone said it was because they used liquid smoke but I dk.

A full slab is like $12 at walmart where I live. That doesn't count the sauce and seasonings and the time spent smoking it. Every so often someone sells ribs in front of kroger and it's decently priced.

It doesn't cost that much at the store, they cook it for you, they're probably better at cooking it than you, and also everything is cheaper when you cook it at home and yet restaurants still exist. Maybe you're too retarded to figure that one out, but making these threads everyday won't help.

What do you mean you don't want to spend 100$ on a brisket and then 20 hours smoking it????

you can't go to nice looking name brand places, those are tourist traps. You need to find some sketchy looking hole in the wall or just a guy towing a barbecue behind his truck that randomly sets up shop on the side of the road, that's where you'll eat the best BBQ of your life

Why does anyone go to any restaurant when instead they can cook at home??????

Because they then don't have to cook, glad I could solve that mystery for you.

Theres some little hole in the wall place I used to live near that had amazing ribs. $17 would get you a full rack, 2 sides, a side meat (pulled pork, chicken, ect), and a generous slice of home made garlic bread. Easily got enough for 2 meals from it.

that seems well worth it, better food and bigger portions then you'd get Chili's or outback steak house for the same price

I will say, being a North Carolinian who moved away, I sure miss quality BBQ, so I was glad to have found that place, I really should grab some dinner there sometime soon.

Its super time consuming, that is all. Most people can't cook for shit, let alone smoke meat

>> No.14798137

I'm not sold on this. I guarantee you I don't know how to slow cook a brisket and I also don't know the first thing about slow cooking ribs. Plus, this place near me has an excellent mustard-based sauce that you can pour on your brisket sandwiches and holy shit it's the real deal.

BBQ is intimidating to normies. Takes a bit more know how than just throwing some hot dogs and burgers on the grill. It is easy but nobody wants to put in the hours of work for a brisket/pork butt

Not all BBQ restaurants are bad (pic related, RIP).
