So, I've got Land O'Lakes white American cheese, and I've got a bunch of marble rye. But I've eaten several of these grilled cheeses, and I'm in the mood for something with more pizazz. What can I add to pizzazz my, '? I'm thinking Grey poupon, but I don't know if it would go with American cheese.

grey poupon and some ham. Make a monte christo out of it.

Eh, I feel like ham would overwhelm it. I want it to still be emphatically a grilled cheese.

Slice up some tomatoes, then serve the sandwiches with some tomato soup.

Not a bad idea, but now I'm just asking myself "Why am I not eating pizza instead?"

Ham doesn't "overwhelm" cheese you insufferable faggot.

It makes it a ham sandwich, not a grilled cheese. You admit as much yourself

That's not what overwhelming means.

1. Dip in tomato soup
2. Caramelize onions and season, put into grilled cheese before cooking and cook as usual
3. Add more types of cheese ya fuckin dip

>Kraut.

If anything would overwhelm the cheese, this would. Why not also add the ham, and you'd have something along the likes of a ruben. Ham isn't corned beef, but hey...

It actually makes a melt, not a ham and cheese sandwich

You use an exceptionally thin slice of ham.
As long as the cheese layer is thicker than the ham layer (precooked thickness), it's a grilled cheese and ham, not a ham and cheese.

Ask any citizen of flyoverlandia, they will confirm that ham is a perfectly acceptable garnish.

I usually put mustard on my grilled cheese, but I use cheddar. Tastes good though. Sometimes I'll put some sliced pickles on it instead. Anything with a little vinegar to balance out the fat can be good.

when it comes to grilt cheese, it goes to shit if you add anything liquid to it. especially with American cheese. just don't.

you should go with paprika or shredded ham or thin slices of a flavorful mushroom, like a portobello or shittake. olives are good too, but if you're not leaving the house for a couple days, thinly sliced and heated garlic clove will take it up about 4 notches
