Instead of buying a whole new appliance, get one of these and use it with your high heat retention pan of choice to get the same results. Obviously, heat it up on a separate burner for best results. Plus you can use it to hold bacon and quesadillas flat.

Make sure it has notches so you can control how much or little it presses down

Sandwich presses warm the inside as well. The outside gets toasted but the inside stays soft and binds together better. Objectively the best way to do grilled cheese. They're useful for more than just sandwiches, eg quesadillas and toasting burritos
