What's the best way to cook a fried egg? I usually use a lot of butter and also use the water steam cover method, and my eggs always are really wet, but I'm starting to think of alternative methods

Try cracking your egg into a sieve. Much of the unwanted "watery white" drops away, leaving you with less liquid volume to deal with. It cooks faster and leaves more of the yolk in a liquid state when done.

If your eggs are wet after you do the cover and steam thing you're using too much water. A little over 2 tablespoons at the absolute most - remember your just creating a little steam to make the heat conduct better in the air, you dont need a shitload of water for that.

That's the best way, you're just using too much water. I used to fry eggs sunny side up all the time but now I make stir fry for breakfast, which is easier.

I use a lot of butter in the pan, then spot blowtorch the whites from above with a very low flame so that they are completely set, but the yolks are still nice and soft-set.
