I don't dip into other boards too much so I wouldn't know. It does feel odd when the board gets like this though. Maybe the already kinda argumentative state of it just encourages other argumentative people to come over?
Lots of threads and stuff where people are just doing the america vs euro food thing too, so I guess if that's seen as anti american in some way, people freak out and overreact.

It's much worse on /ck/ than other slow-moving boards. It's difficult enough to talk about food and cooking without it devolving into a /pol/ glowie-accusation match, and apparently it's bad enough that there's been a schizo or bot derailing threads all day and the mods don't care enough to fix it. I mostly blame the fast food threads.
