It was originally supposed to be like something you'd put on while eating to feel like you're sharing a meal with someone. Now it's kind of just a weird entertainment thing. Some sort of morbid curiosity thing of watching people eat a ton of food combined with the ASMR aspect and the antics of watching some korean girl try to handle an octopus. Also the feeder fetishists. Not sure why you're so bent out of shape and ready to kill people over it but that's pretty much it.
