The best Indian dish is called Chole Bhature: a vegetarian chicken pea curry and Deep fried Bread recipe.
I have just finished making it. Pic related is the bhature (deep fried bread)

and here’s the chole (chickpea curry). You gotta Soak the chickpeas in cinnamon and clove water overnight for the best flavor with your masala mix stirred into the water as well. Please don’t forget to do this

So anons. What would your family think of this dish if they ate it? Would you cook this for your family for dinner one day?
BTW as you should know us Indians like to eat with our hands, preferably with the left hand because left hand is auspiciously flavourful. You take left hand and use the deep fried bread to scoop up the chickpea curry

I ate something similar for dinner. Chickpea and borlotti bean curry, homemade flatbread, kinda like the bread you made but i made it in a pan, not deep fried. The thing at the back is potatoes and cabbage with spices and onions

If you are referring for presentation of Indian dishes it’s because we have a saying in sanskrit that proverbially permeates into indian cultures “The better it looks, the more the disappointment.”
Keep the food presentation and appearance low and the food tastes better when It touches your tongue from the incongruity in expectations

Thanks brother. Those chickpeas are halved and peeled chickpeas, i think they call it channa or something? You can buy those dried in bags, that's where i got mine. I soaked them for 18 hours, then rinsed them and boiled them with turmeric for 25 minutes on low heat, then added them to my sauce. The sauce is:
Heat up rice bran oil, add cumin seed, coriander seed, star anise, cinnamon bark, bay leaves, mustard seeds and 2 cardamom pods, cook them in the oil until fragnant. Then add ginger garlic paste, fry for a minute or two until fragnant, then add onions and fry again for a minute or two. Then add indian base gravy (i always have this in my freezer recipe is from 'latif's inspired' on youtube). Then cook this down, add your chickpeas and beans and fresh sliced tomatoes and some fenugreek leaves. Just cook it until it thickens and wa la

No one does this except for you, dude. Indians use their naan as a utensil for scooping most of the time. You're the guy soaking his bread until it's a soggy mess like a weirdo. You're so defensive about it that you're starting a fucking argument over it with a total stranger. Nice life, kid.

This is the stupidest fucking thing I have ever heard in my life you sheltered imbecile. No one uses naan bread like a fucking utensil it would just fail to hold together any of the stuff inside curries like chickpeas would fall out.
Indians tear bits of their naan bread out and drop pieces of it into the curry, let it soak, then eat it from there like a curry-infused bread.

>My mom and I love a dish called chana masala, which is obviously a chick pea curry. Is it the same?
almost same thing as chole bature. chole = chana masala.
bature = bread
so chana masala would only be the chickpea curry aspect of the dish while chole bature has both chana masala and bature
