My guess would be some kind of sugar left on the stove way too long.

it's regular sugar. do NOT use artificial sweetener because some of those have a lot more kick than regular sugar and can probably destroy the cookware. if you own a glass cooktop keep in mind when sugar burns it is a very exothermic reaction and releases enough energy to melt glass. you won't find a glass cooktop with a warranty that covers damage due to sugar.

>>14752973
How much sugar do you think it'll take to get this effect? Thanks btw.

I'd do what the other person suggested and try to burn marshmallow. if you just throw sugar in the pot it will only melt down once it hits temp and turn burn into carbon probably without boiling over much. there is water in sugar but you'd probably have to add extra water in it to get it to boil over before burning. I don't really have much experience candy making. this could have been someone's fudge recipe that boiled over and burned. could just be a pot full of marshmallow cream or something they boiled over and burned

YOU DIDN'T

YOU DIDN'T BECAUSE IT'S NOT THERE

so in order to make this all I have to do is fuck up any sort of candy making. Surprised I don't see more pictures of this phenomena elsewhere.

>> No.14753066

>>14753007
well usually when people fuck up candy making they either just burn themselves horribly or pussy out and end up with softer product than they wanted

Seems like safety goggles and apron are in order then.

>> No.14753109

>>14753007
that's because this pot probably bubbled up a bunch until it boiled over some and then it caught on fire and they let it continue to burn until you see what you get in the picture. most people wouldn't let it get this bad
