It quite literally opens up the flavour and aroma of the whiskey. Most whiskeys are supposed to have a couple drops added to them. It's quite literally superior.

Do I fuck. I drink it straight out of the bottle. A glass just slows you down (so even if I owned any glasses I wouldn't bother pouring it into one first) and adding water, however little, means you have to drink more liquid to get drunk, which negates the point of drinking something stronger in the first place.

There is a study that states if you add water to whisky the concentration of Guaiacol (responsible for a smokey flavor) at the top of the glass increases. Then there's some bullshit conclusion stating therefore it makes scotch taste better.

>no smokiness in Glenfarclas
But I read an article written by a guy who read an article written by a guy who misunderstood and misrepresented a study with a speculative conclusion, that said water makes scotch taste better. Glenfarclas is a scotch.

Adding water changes the taste of whisky, for better or worse, it is subjective. And now the big question HOW DO IT WORK? well here is a youtube VIDEO to demonstrate.

You do not belive me? Find your darkest whisky that has no colouring added, drop some water into it and wait. No stirring. Still don't belive me? Long term assignment then, put a bottle of whisky into your fridge for a year maybe two, see what happens. separation happens

Well, some strong whiskey's are better with water because it smooths out their edges. You're also making it last longer because you can actually water it down, unlike 40%.
