This bbq sauce is DOGSHIT and if you actually like it, you have shitty tastes. It's hfcs slop, entirely too sweet and horrible. Why is this so fucking popular? Every time I have ribs, chicken, anything grilled at someones house and they use bbq sauce, it's always this. Yes, I'm mad about bbq sauce. It sucks, period. Is there anything more overrated than this?

No, the problem is you treat it like ketchup and not bbq sauce. Thin it out with some water and heat it up in the microwave. It's a game changer imo

This guy understands.
Its no surprise that economics wins every goddamn time.
Your friend says "bring some bbq sauce to the party". Standing in the store, you are faced with a shelf of Sweet Baby Ray's for $0.99, and Stubb's is there for $4.99 each.
Which one do you leave with?
Thats right. Economics is KING.

I use ketchup as a base for my own BBQ sauce. add brown sugar, garlic pow., fresh ground black pepper...whatever spices I'm feelin' at the moment, and a dash or two of liquid smoke. Heat that up to a quick bubble...Voila!
Can adjust with apple cider vinegar or even fruit juices. maybe,(usually,) a shot of sriracha or dash of Cheyenne as well...
Heating to a quick simmer is key though, even if it's only a minute in a microwave.
This is /ck/, I'd hope you guys would at least TRY making your own and not just take the prefab, cornsyrup slurry that is the usual suspect.

Most can't grill or BBQ because memes aside, many of them are in closely packed together housing units, so if there isn't some "oi you need a loicense for that" type gov't regulation or law banning grills/grilling, the landlord themselves has something, just like most Apartment complexes in the US. The little grilling culture I'm even aware of is England not being too different than the US, but that's mostly in the north, and then in the Germanic/nordic countries, with the little compact grills they take to parks, but they are constantly banned due to fire watches now.
