14732956 No.14732956 [Reply] [Original]

What’s the fastest way to shred block cheese? I have 25 blocks to go. My arm is killing me. Got them on sale. Bought 33 for 50 cents a block because they expire in 2 weeks. Shredding it all up so I can give away to family and use some for myself.

>> No.14732960

why not just give away the blocks

>> No.14732963

Food processor.

>>14732960
He's hiding the fact that the cheese expires soon, which is super weird considering it's cheese.

>> No.14732966

Why are you shredding it?

>> No.14732968

>>14732956
You can freeze the blocks, and they'll keep for a long time. It also occupies less space than shredded.

To answer your question: a kitchen aid of sorts.

>> No.14732983

>>14732956
They expire faster if they’re shredded. The only real danger of cheese expiration is mold. It’s a lot easier to spread and a lot harder to detect when your cheese is in a million pieces. With a block, you just cut off the moldy piece and you still have good cheese.
Stop being a retard and stop shredding the cheese you poor retard.

if you compress the shredded cheese into a similar volume, you have a block again, but less chess due to entropy.

Holy shid. Alright buddy, are there any more air atoms in between Shredded cheese than block cheese? If you're not vacuum seal packing, Shredded takes up space slow man.

I thought if I froze the blocks it changed the texture of the cheese. Idk but I remember reading that somewhere. Figured if I shredded it and gave errybody a gallon bag that they would use it (?)

As for air, you press it out of the bag.

It doesn't expand the atoms, but each shred of cheese occupies one space, so the volume increases. I'm not very good with physics to give you a technical explanation, but if you've ever cut a head of cabbage, you know how it goes.

cheese is nasty. I do not eat it at all. it is a forbidden food because of the high fat content. Best to avoid it completely for the sake of my health. You are not doing anybody favors by stockpiling cheese. If you want to hunt for bargain foods, stockpile pinto beans or bags of flour. starch is good for you. Cheese? no way.
