This, there has never been a time when people 25+ were more disconnected from childish pop music. Back in the day there were like 5 radio stations and you had to physically buy any music you wanted to listen on your own and listen to them in relatively expensive and inconvenient equipment. Pop music was utterly unavoidable for much of its existence. Now with most millennial having come up with the internet, pirating, satellite or streaming radio a lot of people who aren't even that old know absolutely nothing about what the kids are listening to now because they just don't have to.
