Can someone explain why they eat eggs like this? Aren’t you worried about biting shell? That would really ruin my meal.

Those soldiers need some marmite on them.

presumably they use the spoon to scoop out the actual egg
I'm not sure though because I'm not gay

It's only just struck me that spam soldiers could be quite nice. I may have to experiment

It's for soft boiled eggs. You crack the top and scoop the yolk from above. Makes it easier to not spill the yolk everywhere. Pretty good with balsamic and soy sauce drizzled in.

But wouldn’t you leave some egg behind? I’m an american and our laws frown upon wasting food or soda.

I don't think most australians have a particular name for it. Some may call them egg and soldiers, but I think a lot of people just fuckin' call it boiled egg or boiled egg and toast.

Soft boiled eggs. The toast for dipping is simply implied.

>> No.14651474

Oeufs à la coque
The toast strips (what you call soldiers I guess?) are "mouillettes"
We often ate some when I was a kid, salt+pepper on the egg, butter on the toast. I kinda want to try variations now.
