Tobasco has too strong a flavor and often masks everything else. While certainly delicious, unless you want everythibg tasting of it.. its not the greatest flavor enhancer.

Crystal is a great alternative. Great but not strong enough to mask everything
Tapatio is good for adding brightness, again without masking.

Homemade is the way to go though.
