What are some foods you tried to get into but gagged after 1 bite? For me it's Japanese curry. Stuff looks delicious but eating it made me gag and almost throw up.

How can you not like it? It's definitely different to an Indian or Thai style curry but still delicious.

when i was a kid, sushi
i wanted to weeb out like my favorite DBZ characters but i hated the taste. in retrospect, it was store-bought california rolls, and to this day i still don't really like roll sushi beyond the most basic stuff. i love nigiri, though.

it's pretty rare for me to gag on something these days unless it's objectively awfully prepared. i will say i tried coleslaw again recently and didn't get more than two bites in. all that slaw and xyz-salad americana stuff that's 30% mayonnaise is pretty fucking disgusting imo.

I hated curry when I was still a child. One day, a switch flicked ok and now all curry is delicious.
From all that I have observed I can only assume that enjoying curry is a requirement for adulthood with respect to the palate.

Japanese curry is top tier comfort food if you make it right. I like using the medium hot Golden Curry with this recipe except I use cubed pork shoulder instead of chicken.

>The term mole stems from the Nahuatl world molli, which means “sauce” or “concoction.” Mole comes from a family of sauces prepared throughout the Oaxaca and Puebla regions of Mexico and is characterized by a complex, layered flavor derived from intricate blends of dried chiles, spices, fruits, and seasonings.

Jap curry was how I introduced myself to curry oddly enough, and then Indian, then Thai
Now these days I just make my own curry, but hot damn taking the time to make katsu cutlets and Jap curry is something else.

If you put a mole and a curry in front of someone, even a blind deaf mute, they could tell the difference. Moles require much more time and effort than curry and contain entirely different ingredients. It's like calling Cholula curry. It's a sauce with Chile and spices!

Considering that both are incredibly wide umbrella terms I don't think a statement that general can be accurate.

All I can remember about fucking curry is that I ate curry chicken
ONCE. I was violently sick, in bed over three days. Missed work. I
could smell that shit coming through my skin. It was horrible.
Several weeks later, I mentioned this to my Cardiologist and he told
me it did the same thing to him. I don't know what's in "curry" and
I'm not even going to look but, god damn, NEVER AGAIN.
