Agreed 100%. Redditors scream and shout about how french press/aero press is soooo superior but it's really just pretentious bullshit that takes longer, is more difficult to clean, prepare, etc. Really DUMB!

>> No.14625022

>>14624953
90% of the time I make coffee in one of these. I will use the fancy beans and a french press for a big weekend breakfast or something, but i would still make a drip pot for some coffee later.

>> No.14625062

I don't even clean mine. I just throw it out and buy a new one every few weeks.

It’s not based to be wasteful, but at least you don’t have some faggy 2k grinder and an Italiano hand pump gaylord machine to make a thimble of coffee.

that looks cool, what are the functional differences?

i didnt mean that the specific model i posted was the best, but just the way it worked
>(pour water in, put grounds in with a filter, push some buttons, it works)

A basic ass mr coffee type drip machine can taste fine with decent coffee and correct ratio of grinds to water. I don't own one and probably never will, I don't want any plastic in my own coffee apparatus, but they're ok for the office.

I like that it makes 10 cups in under 3 minutes and has an insulated carafe instead of a burner. This one is even simpler, put the grounds in pour the water and close the top and it starts.

Just get a perkulator, filters was top jewing before all these pods started to be sold

There's nothing to adjust on the machine itself. If you want different strengths very the amount/type of grounds or water.

I mainly use one similar to OPs pic but perkulators have a special place in my heart, think I should have two of them in a cupboard somewhere

Definately, people around here are pretty much fueled on very strong black coffee 24/7 (bit of an overstatement but Sweden has one of the highest coffee consumption in the world per capita, it was outlawed twice I think but failed to stop ppl from drinking https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustav_III_of_Sweden%27s_coffee_experiment )

Isn't the French press objectively better? I can make my foam, pour it into a cup, rinse the french press, then make coffee. No plastic and much less space taken up overall.

>> No.14626549

French press is the best solution if you want really, really strong coffee, since you can just let it stew as long as you want before you press it. Every drip coffee machine I've ever used has left me with coffee I felt was too watery, even when they had 'strong' settings. I like my coffee so thick I can cut it with a knife.

I'm tempted to try one of these. At the moment I only drink instant coffee, but it'd be nice to have something better on occasion. It seems like a lot of effort, is it worth it? Does it do weaker coffee well, or only really espresso strength?
