Hardly. That's what we like to tell ourselves, but it's only true to the degree that people believe in what it means to "have an argument". If you're past looking to negotiate or to persuade someone in good faith, you're not having a discussion about the pros and cons or truthfulness of something. You're just looking to impose your will on someone who is unreceptive. Whether displays of anger work, or whether they work in consecutive situations, is another thing.
