shit yeah i know what you mean. it kinda tastes like bad pussy, albeit not unclean. i'm serious. or, lick your armpit, it kinda has a similar taste. maybe the best way to describe it is stale sweat
anyway, always lay down a beating on a chicken breast before clookint. flat, thin breast is the only way to eat it

Yeh, me.
Chicken soup for retards is just dumping all the ingredients in a pot of water and boiling it for like half an hour.
It won't look better than boyardee, but it'll taste better.

good breast > good thigh > overcooked thigh >>>> overcooked breast

99% of people habitually overcook breast
even boomer retards with meat thermometers often go to 160, on fucking purpose
it should look like this. 145-150

>> No.14594101

25 mins 350, 20 mins 400 usually turns out p good for baked chicken breast.

I don't flip or take them out to change temp either

Stab it a million times with a fork, and marinate it in something that includes some kind of vinegar. My go-to for chicken breast is olive oil, balsamic, garlic powder, rosemary and oregano (and salt and pepper ofc) bake at 400 for 25min, tasty every time

buying shit chicken
buy free range chicken
it tastes better
it tastes more better than the cost difference

better yet buy whole chickens and butcher them yourself. It's fun. You can get 5 decent meals of meat from 1 chicken and you can make stock.

>> No.14594114

Brine them and Sous vide at 145 F for an hour. Cool down, season and sear. Perfect chicken every time.

Can you NIGGERS fuck off with this thigh meme? Yes chicken thighs are great and tastier, but you guys have now made the press for thighs DOUBLE that of breast at my local market. Chicken breast is around 9$ a pound and thighs are now close to 16$ a pound. It's the same thing with bones. Used to grab a huge bag from the butcher for about 5$, and last time I went in he pointed me to a new section of the butchers display, and bones were 10$ a pound. I'm sick of this over pricing bullshit caused by people ruining all the good poor people foods, because you need to preach it EVERYWHERE!

OP, chicken in your grocery was just the day before frozen at a nice safe temperature before being thawed and sectioned into weighed and stickered styrofoam trays there. These thawing chicken pieces are then put out for consumers to buy ready-to-cook in a refrigerated state for ~2 days, ie now in a thawed state. You have to cook them the very day you buy them, or the day after. Do not wait longer than that, or if you don't want it in the next 36hrs, you come home from the grocery and immediately pop it right into a tight freezer container (in other words, get it out of that thin store film and styrofoam packaging with that gross juice absorbing pack that was catching those thawing juices which spoil faster than the meat itself).

Before "but the date is..." realize that repackaging exp date would have worked if it was still kept frozen in the back of the butcher area. They're still thawing it for you, thawing further in your cart/transport home, etc and that's where danger zone temps start in a countdown.

Like to shop more infrequently? Consider breaking down big value packs of 12 breasts into ziplocs the moment you buy them, or buy those big thick plastic bags of breasts or fingers. Those frozen guys are ice-sheet frozen, keeping them from freezer burn but also giving you the ability to cook them as if they were fresh without needing to thaw first. That ice sheet is gone the moment it hits a pan or grill.

One more tip, don't put meat in your cart until the last aisle and ring up quickly. That cooling of even 30 minutes of shopping and checkout, plus your drive, adds up to lukewarm meat. Keep it cold as possible further by an insulated bag, or at least a nice brown paper bag folded down.
