Do you put ice in you’re beer?

>> No.14570221

in Straya this is done more frequently than in Merricka, but moreso with light or spiced beers or of course cider and wine. but it can be done with any beer, depending how god awful hot it is

I live in bakersfield where it can get over 110 frequently I like putting fuck off huge ice cubes in my beer. My Ma says it waters it down but I don't see how it is a big issue unless you were planning on nursing the drink over an hour or so.

>> No.14570302

exactly. more water is a healthier way to drink anyway, it's still the same amount of alcohol in the glass whether you add water or not

That's only true after the ice has returned to its melting point. It can still exchange heat before that point.

Ye i started putting ice in my beer when I got sick waiting for beer to go cold in the freezer, ye its actually not bad, i put like 3 or 4 cubes in a scotch glass and just refill it from the stubby i leave in the freezer, its actually more refreshing that why, and I don't mind drinking a little more water

Even though metric in general is much better, Fahrenheit is actually way the fuck better than Celsius

What a fucking dumb system for weather to include the boiling point of water as a main reference point, like we live on fucking Mercury

Ice in beer is a SEA thing and I've only really seen Vietnam vets do it stateside. What I learned in SEA instead was adding a splash of lemon lime soda in a glass before adding a light lager, haven't done that in over a decade though.

>> No.14572808

>>14572743
Its not about how hard it is to understand, its about its relevance to earthly weather. Nowhere on earth's surface does the weather get even close to water's boiling point. Celsius is a decently useful system for cooking, but its just dumb for weather.
Fahrenheit's 0-100 scale pretty well mirrors what weather does, obviously this wasn't its original intent but it works great. Celsius traps weather in a super clumsy, twice as granular scale of -20-40. Its that simple, which of these scales sounds better for use in weather? 0-100, or -20-40?

>> No.14572969

>>14572759
SEA is hot as hell, so folks are willing to water down just to keep it cooler a little longer.

>which of these scales sounds better for use in weather? 0-100, or -20-40?
there is no difference. one arbitrary scale is not better than another arbirtray scale. they are numbers that can be freely converted back and forth with basic artithmetic.

>> No.14573489

>>14573468
you are ignoring granularity. Fahrenheit conveys more weather information with fewer digits, in a less clumsy way
>they are numbers that can be freely converted back and forth with basic artithmetic.
