this. a little over a decade ago when every fast food place had a 1$ double cheeseburger, McDonald's eventually decided to raise the price of the double cheeseburger to 1.50$ and introduced the mcdouble (same thing with one less slice of cheese) to the dollar menu. Since then both have of course gone up in price
