This. Only you don't really even have to complain, usually. I find it's better to start off nice rather than angry. Most fast food restaurants have a system in place. They will likely take your name and ask for some information from your receipt then you can come back within a few days and get your missing item. Make sure you take the name of the person you speak to

Taco Bell recently forgot this 12 pack of Cinnabon delights in my order and I went back 4 or 5 days later and got them.
