We missed our summer. Restaurant shut down. Half of them won't reopen.

I have to leave the industry. I don't even know how to have a normal job anymore. What am I gonna do?

Honestly, its kind of like a gamble. You might get unlucky and get PTSD and be fucked for life, but a lot of people make it out OK and are much better off for it. Trust me on this one.

Depending on your state, you can have a home-based food business. Just cook and serve premade meals to the other half of the population that still has jobs.

indeed, if there is a second shutdown here in Canada, 70% of the restaurants will not reopen. Perhaps more. Retail stores I'd say 50 - 65% won't either.

do warehouse work, road crew work, construction, postal service, etc.
or somehow get into trade school and be a plumber/electrician or something specific you can enter a union with.
there's plenty of random labor jobs you can apply to. you can talk up your kitchen experience pretty well as being able to operate under pressure, work well with a team, communicate properly, all that shit.

You're the 2nd wave of the unemployed. Don't want to be the last...
So, get the only available jobs out there, RIGHT NOW. Do not diddledadde.
