beef jerky is actually really easy to make, get a lean steak like round eye, trim as much fat off as you can and cut into 1/4' strips and soak in teriyaki/suy sauce over night in the fridge. put some wire racks and put in the oven at its loest setting for 1-3 hours

these cost like $25 and have a dial to set the heat so you don't have to play around trying to get the heat right, plus i take mine out on the pourch so the oil doen't stink up the house and splatter oil around the kitchen. let cool and take in back in the oil stays good for a few fryings as long as you keep it sealed

if you freeze them it makes them better

>> No.14532759

when i am in a snackin mood i will often chop up some potatoes and or sweet potatoes and toss them in olive oil with various spices (black pepper, curry, cayenne, lemon pepper, curry, whateverthefuck) then bake them until they are crisp-ish, and in the mean-time make a kind of dipping sauce with whatever i've got in the fridge

i also like a good carrot cut up into sticks and dipped in salad dressing

i enjoy a yogurt cup- i am told you can make your own without much effort

i experimented with making my own chex mix, you've gotta dial in the flavors but you'll get the hang of it. i made a kind of spicy asian kind that was tastee

i recommend hummus, you can make it in about 3 minutes and you can make many different varieties, i myself enjoy garlic. the key is the tahini, get the good stuff

popcorn is a classic

Dose anyone have a bakeable cheese stick batter recipe?

>> No.14533560

>>14532904
i think most cheese stick are bread crumbs not a batter, you could try a egg wash and dipping it in bread crumbs, i noticed if you freeze them then you can re-dip to get a much thicker coating. I'd recommend the driest mozzarella you can find otherwise it's just going to be a big sloppy mess
