I liked to use my cast iron for years making bacon, then I realized it was way quicker and I got better results using a teflon pan.

I bought a preseasoned pan like 2 years ago and I've never seasoned it myself.
Honestly I can't be bothered to anyway.

Pretty much every cast iron pan you'll buy is preseasoned with some kind of coating. Unless your pan looks like this it's already been seasoned. But honestly even stainless steel can be just as nonstick as long as you fully heat it up with some kind of fat in it first, even if you cook at a lower temperature after.

you're supposed to remove that and add your own "seasoning"

seasoning is such a stupid fucking name for it, it's a layer of fat and oil

Seasoning is not complex, it is incredibly basic. You just got filtered by something as simple as sticking an oiled pan in the oven for an hour before it is fit to use.

if you have 20 minutes to spare, baking your bacon yields superior results.
bacon in pan, start in cold oven, set to 350F, bake for 15 minutes once it comes to temp (if you want firm not crunchy bacon) or like 20 minutes if you want to overcook your bacon
especially good if cooking for several people, or batch cooking.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
