Are indian restaurants ripping off stupid white people? Theres not way it costs $20 for a pot of butter chicken, nevermind only a plate of it.

Isnt indian food the cheapest kind of food to make? They're charging 20 dollars in Canada for 1 order of butter chicken, and sometimes the dont even come with rice. I've decided to just make it at home.

A lot of them feel like a ripoff. Even a basic lentil dish is like $15 minimum at a lot of Indian restaurants in my area. Guess it's because it seems more exotic they can get away with it. Buffets usually seem like a better option though a lot of them have closed down or switched to take-out only which is too expensive.

> I could just make it at home
No you couldn't or wouldn't, the ingredients and preparation needed are basically as complicated as it gets, you'd use a jar of curry like the lazy fucks you are and it won't taste the same as fresh.
On top of that I'd bet everything I own you don't have access to a tandoor oven.
The reality is you can make high quality Italian dishes at home with little effort. You can't be assed to make actual Indian food or get proper temps for naan and the poos know this.

Spices make me angry. They disguise the flavour of proper meat which only needs a very small amount of salt. Even pepper detracts from the savouriness of meat. Americans don't understand this which is why they cover up their meats with sugar and spice. Their culinary culture is as barbaric as its people.

not necessarily. When it's 40 degrees outside and 10% humidity, you may not even notice as it's almost 10 degrees cooler inside, but the heat exchange in such extremely dry weather can rob you of the feeling of dehydration. I myself have succumbed to this twice, having not noticed at all that I'm completely parched. Conversely, it also gets relatively cold (compared to the summers) in the winters, at or close to 0 degrees, when the same occurs, but of course, there's no risk of dehydration then.

the reason indian food is so expensive is the same as any other restaurant: you’re paying for labor, maintenance, and profit. the difference is that people think indians are robbing them while not batting an eye at a $20 plate of pasta.

You niggers are getting ripped off.

But then again, you got to know that good spices along with good ingredients is crucial for curry to taste very fucking good. Hell, you got to know how to pick proper coconut cream - cause if you picked a coconut cream that is 'freshly' made, and by that I mean is made thirty minutes ago, chances are its already sour tasting and you got to ask for him to make you a batch of coconut cream to get that incredibly good tasting sweet shit to mix in with the spices, thus elevating your curry into something oh so good.

So yes, that restaurant you're in is ripping you off but you got to know your shit before your curry taste spicy, a little salty and sweet nasty tasty rather than sour and kind of disappointing.
