Cole comes from "kool" or "kohl", meaning "cabbage", while "slaw" means "salad". It's a compound word, but it's perfectly common and acceptable to write it as two separate words.

>dad moves to the US
>everyone there loves his fucking BBQ
>now, at any event in his hick town, he's required to handle it
Is that a just a Michigan thing? Do they suck at BBQ?

Theres chiefs and Indians in all things. It’s much MUCH easier to let someone else man the grill while you proceed to drink beer and then eat bbq when it’s finished.

It's an odd issue, but there's a grilling belt, a non-grilling belt, and a defiant grilling pocket. I grew up in the defiant grilling pocket where my dad would have be dig a path out to the shed in the middle of November where he would store the grill and proceed to get high as fuck off the fumes as he cooked up a couple steaks for the family. Michigan is one of those wacky states with a stupidly diverse range of stupidity.

November steaks were fucking great, though.

Oh, I see. Not too familiar with that whole issue myself ofc (despite spending to much time on US centric websites, I guess). Been to a couple "BBQ-in the snow" events hosted by friends here though. Delicious all around the year. We might be in the European BBQ belt though, pretty much everyone owns a grill here for such occasions....or two.

I love grilling. I'm good with chicken, burgers, and dogs/brats but want to improve my steak

My fiance and I usually do rare or medium rare and I've overcooked them. Any tips?
