Haven’t eaten at a Long John Silver’s in about 20 years, back when I was a little kid. Avoided eating it because I know it’s nothing but deep fried sea garbage. A friend took me there today for lunch and I had fried shrimp, fried clams, and hush puppies. All dipped in tartar sauce. Best meal I’ve eaten in 20 years and despite the painful indigestion I’ve had for 3 hours I am definitely going back.

Their food is delicious, but terrible for you. Whenever I eat there I get farts like crazy.

Seems like they use the same oil to fry the fish, shrimp, fries and hushpuppies so they all have the same oily flavor

I looked at the nutrition info and if they got rid of the trans fats it isn’t that bad for you as far as calories go.

Fried fish is an underrated food. I’m going back to Long John’s next weekend and I’m ordering the fried Alaskan pollock with malt vinegar and a side of coleslaw. Probably some hushpuppies to because goddamn those things.

I just stopped at one for the first time in a few years the other day. Forgot how addictive that shit is. There was about a 1/4" layer of fried crumbly bits on the bottom of my box, too. I ate them all.

Money laundering for the BLM movement? Racists would expect it to be a fried chicken or Koolaide joint but a fish restaurant would be less suspicious even though they couldn’t stop themselves from frying the living shit out of the food.

About twelve years ago I’d go to long Johns every Friday after I got paid. I’d order the two piece meal, sometimes chicken sometimes fish sometimes both, they had this really spicy and sweet sauce in a long squeeze bottle and I ate the shit out of it, all with a sweet tea.
Long johns like most things in life is location dependent, I have seen good locations or like the one I frequented, bad locations, your experience will depend on where you are

The only Long John Silver's near me is a combo with a KFC, which is nice because I can get their fish with KFC sides if I want to. Then again I haven't been there in ages, might be closed down at this point. Always liked their Alaskan pollock.

ljs was my dads secret favorite fast food joint as a kid even though he didnt like seafood

this is because he would order 'crumbs' - he would get some fish full order of hushpuppies and then explain to the cashier he wanted a wax paper trough of the batter bits they normally throw away. hed eat it with a spork with the coleslaw.

>> No.14468176

Hush puppies got better over the years. Had LJS this Friday for the first time in a while. Fries are soggy as hell, but the fish is still great, and the chicken's good as well now.

Same.
My dad always ordered the crumbs from Long John Silvers. Then he’d find some sauce packets in the parking lot and bring it home to our family’s refrigerator box where we’d eat it together under the glow of a Bic lighter.

Are you people stupid? It's owned by the company that owns KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell. Also implying the people that work there can even count money. It's not a mattress store owned by Italians on the outskirts of New Jersey.
