You seem to be the racist, as is very common with your types. I simply don't give a shit about your fucking nations and don't want to visit them.
If you want to call me racist for disagreeing with you then you must have been shillary supporters since that's the best that they can do.
Are you still seething in your closets because Trump beat your annointed one?

>> No.14436202

No sugar or curry powder was added. The curry base was made, then you can add whatever vegetables and meat you want, sweetie :)
Yes they were good. I washed and soaked them with the potato for half an hour.
I recommend giving it a try if you can find it. The flavor is different from thai and indian.
Um, sweetie, r*ddit is that way :)
Looks good to me!
Looks great! Personally I like to keep the rice separate and mix it together as I eat.
Both look great. I plan on making some tonkatsu to go along with Japanese curry. I've made thai curry and really like it, I want to try making Indian curry too.

I've been making a cracking beef curry lately.

>Sear rump steak and dice
>Fry fresh onion, garlic, ginger and chilli in butter
>Add garam masala, cumin, ground coriander, cardamom, cinnamon and chilli powder, salt and pepper
>Fry until nice and fragrant
>Add beef
>Coat beef with spices
>Add tomato paste, cream and a little beef stock
>Simmer until beef is tender (around 30 minutes)

Japanese "curry" isn't that good honestly.
Pretty bland compared to stuff from actual curry making countries, like Thailand, Indonesia or India, all of which offer some completely unique techniques.

Japanese "curry" is just... regular stew basically.
Not bad, but nothing special or uniquely japanese about it, really.

Pic related is what I made today, beef Rendang.
Last week I made Indian Chana Masala, which was completely different. The week before that I made yellow Thai Curry. All of these have such unique flavours and that is just the tip of the ice berg.
The fact that you would name Jap stew as the "best curry" tells me that you haven't tried that many.
You should.

There's no sugar in it.
They sweeten it up with a lot of onions.

>> No.14436560

Untrue. There is honey and apple in almost every recipe, more often than not also jam and ketchup.Tons of added sugar.
Not that many onions either.
So idk what the hell you are talking about.

Japanese curry always starts with a lot of onion. Sugar is never added. Sometimes honey and apple is added, Jam and ketchup is never added, Koreans do that type of shit. Idk what the hell you are talking about.

>> No.14436619

Uhm, once?
Also rendang is from Indonesia and not even the point of my post.

>> No.14436630

Starts with normal amount of onions as any other beef stew.
Honey and apple are pretty much mandatory, jam and ketchup are OFTEN added.
Please don't try to go all purist on a dish that is a bastardization of a bastardization.

Being sweet was the only unique point it had to it, so you may wanna stop pulling that leg from under your weeb stew.

For children
I rarely use it for adult use.
A small amount, if any.

Just like in India, Japanese curry has a wide variety of flavors depending on the family and the restaurant.
It can be as pungent as Indian, or as rich as English stew.

>> No.14436830

>Japanese curry

>> No.14437091

why is japanese cuisine so hilariously bad?
the main staple dish of nipponland is sushi which is literally just fish on rice
their curry is just watered soup
ramen is just inferior version of authentic Chinese noodles
even instant noodles is taiwanese (Chinese) and not from japan

why could the nips not make a satisfactory cuisine?

>> No.14438760

>Just like in India, Japanese curry has a wide variety of flavors
lmao nowhere near close.
It IS a dish for children. It's the equivalent of going to a fancy restaurant and ordering tendies with fries.

Ever heard of the expression "You eat with your eyes first"?
Cause those colors and textures all just look revolting.
Soggy, grey breading, ugly ass broth and those hideous streaks of mayo and ketchup (seriously?).
All in all, pretty unappealing looking dish.
What else am I supposed to judge it by, genius?

I made my first attempt at curry the other day and it was definitely kinda retarded so here we go
>fry onions and jalapeños in butter
>don’t have garlic or any other aromatics bc I’m retarded
>seed the jalapeños bc I think my curry powder is spicy
>break open a coconut for that sweet milk
>dump in too much, water log the onions, completely undercooked
>realize I should’ve added it in small batches
>let it simmer to get rid of excess liquid
>add small amount of lassi (Indian yogurt drink)
>add a fuck ton of “hot” curry powder
>realize I should’ve had chili paste
>but again, I’m retarded
>add paneer, eggplant
>cook until the eggplant is primed
>add a shitload of garlic powder, because I should’ve had garlic
>cook some nan bread
>eat with pickled mango that’s apparently the sourest substance known to man
>realize I should’ve had mango chutney

Lmk how much you hate me

>> No.14438916

I don't care that you're judging, sweetie :) the chicken tasted plain so I added mayo and sirracha, not ketchup.

...not really. curry is based on preference. there are some people that pour cream into their jap curry. homemade jap curry is usually the roux blocks, and restaurants make their own roux using the curry powder, flour and butter template as copied by the jap navy
