I really like eating dogs like this but my roommate came down the other day and said it was weird.
How does /ck/ eat their hot dogs?
Also what do you eat them with? For me it's Catsup.

Hot dogs are pre-cooked meat - like baloney, so there isn't really a 'wrong' way to cook them. Personally I do prefer something that gives them some browning.

I like them in toaster ovens on a tray. Cut them long and middle, and then put them on a buttered english muffin with chedder. Throw on a half a fried egg if you like.

I prefer to broil my dogs so that they get a crust. Taste exactly the same as they would on a gas grill. The shitty thing about broiling is that it is easy to burn your hot dogs this way. Boiling a hot dog is the foolproof method cause you can basically just forget about the hot dog and never overcook it.

Charcoal grilled hot dogs are the best, though.

>> No.14366388

Just put them in the microwave by themselves. Just turn the power down and turn them halfway through so they don't burst. Takes about a minute or less. Cooking dogs in hot water or steam, is one of the valid ways to prepare hot dogs/sausages. The packing liquid cooks off so actually might reduce your nitrites, but most of all they do get well done/safe heating temperature. There's a different texture, for those that want that, and maybe for children/pregnant or old people, it's safely done, and for seconds, it stays warm in the hot water until wanted. This is why it's a food cart popularity.

I prefer it grilled, if not butterflied and then butterflied.

Never do I want ketchup.
