Have you ever been to a 3 Michelin star restaurant? Was it worth it? Or is it an over-hyped scam from a tire company to get people to drive long distance to go to these places?

Michelin has its own problems with reliability, accountability, and an overloaded work force in relation to their rankings.

That being said, most of the restaurants on a Michelin list are there because they've earned it. There are some that are the result of legacies or celebrity chefs, but overall these restaurants stand out. I've never paid more than $350 for a dinner at a Michelin restaurant, and $350 for some of the best food you'll ever eat is worth it to me. Yes, it is expensive and yes, they're still small meals, but the food can be astoundingly good, so if you're looking for a culinary stand-out, I would use the Michelin rankings.

back when I was in high school a hole in the wall chineses food place near me became a michilen 1 star resturant. they hiked their prices up 100%, touris started clogging the store and eventually the owner moved on to a bigger place. it sucekd

it's very, very good food, you know instantly that it's among the best you've ever had. everything fresh and delicious, service is great, and if you enjoy talking about sourcing of ingredients or inspiration behind a dish you'l llove it

is it worth the money? probably not if you're pressed for cash
