I have an excess of tuna and too little pasta to make a pot. Could I add some egg to it?

>> No.14356810

yes absolutely you can
basic technique for pasta is to have some fat (olive oil or butter say) in a pan, cook some things in it (tuna, sausage, garlic, tomato tin, whatever) and then add drained pasta to the pan that is not quite cooked through, and toss it to coat the sauce.

Reserve some of the starchy drained pasta water and add that to your pan to make the sauce saucier. It will form a tasty emulsion with your oil.

then finish it with cheese or lemon juice or toasted nuts or fresh herbs and salt to taste, although the salty pasta water will likely make it salty enough

for example:
>fry tuna in generous olive oil until it crisps up a little
>add pasta
>add a little pasta water
>cook on high heat stirring until mixed through
>add some lemon juice, parsley, and pepper
wa la

that sounds gross to me but you could push your tuna to the side, scramble an egg in the pan and then toss your pasta through it

fried asian noodles often get that treatment so it's not so strange.

or make cabonara and add tuna to it. that means mixing the hot pasta through the egg basically off the heat so it doesn't cook through but forms a sauce.

If you add cream, yes. cream brings the flavors together.
