How did they do it, /ck/?

By far, oat milk has been the best purchase I made. Tastes amazing mixed with coffee, and is not filled with saturated fats and such. Better than 2% or skim, and the vanilla flavor just compliments it.

How is this even possible?

Do not substitute milk.

Either drink it or don't.

Everything else is fucking cringe and shit. The same can be said of vegan and vegetarian meat substitutes. It's fine if you're avoiding it, but fuck off making fake, shitty versions of it.

>> No.14355174

>>14355037
My ranking based on taste:

Oat milk
Soy milk, Cashew milk
Almond milk
--- Power gap ---
Hemp milk*, Rice milk*, Split Pea milk
Coconut milk* (not the thick kind)

* Poor texture. I like horchata and all, but its def not something I would take as a milk substitute.

Split pea milk would be a lot higher if it didn't have a strange bitter aftertaste. I don't see anyone else complaining about it, so it could just be me.

I pretty much only buy oatmilk and soy milk on the regular though. I like oatmeal and soy products (like tofu) in general, so maybe this list is quite biased.

I'm becoming lactose intolerant now in my mid-30s, which apparently runs in the family, so I switched to oat milk out of necessity. Out of all the milk substitutes, it's by far the best, because the texture goes well with cereal, and it isn't cloyingly sweet like Lactaid.

Idk, milk has a funky taste in my opinion. I always thought it tasted disgusting alone and had to mix something in it or cook with it to avoid its taste.
Oat milk, on the other hand, I can enjoy it alone. I can't say the same about soy milk, but other milk substitutes like almond are also good.

the best part of oat milk is how shelf stable it is. it can be kept at room temperature unopened for months just like any other juice, and when opened can stay in the fridge much longer than dairy. truly a miracle milk replacement.

I bought this like 2 months ago because I hadn't seen it before. It tasted like absolute shit and I just threw it out. The sweetened vanilla almond milk is the prefect kind for me. It's what I drink when I have a sweet craving but don't want to get a sodey pop from the gas station since I've cut that shit out entirely. I don't really drink real milk often by itself but I never substitute it in food because nothing is as good. I don't hate regular milk, I just never have a craving for it.

Basically. Oat milk is shit and it will never be in my fridge ever again.

It's because oat milk is sweet. Something in the way it's produced turns the starches into sugar, so they advertise that they have no added sugar but it's sweet because of the processing
