Not quite. Bourbon is cheapest in America.
Scotch is not cheapest in Scotland. The best prices I've seen came from Taiwan, followed by various duty free airport stores.
I've been told some American states have scotch at around zero tax, so that too would be cheaper than Scotland's 17.5% VAT.
However there's a bit of a "I can fuck you so I will" going on. Lots of countries do different kinds of tax. Australia, for instance, has a $per abv flat rate, as opposed to Britain's % of asking price. So you'd expect low end spirits to be cheaper in Britain and more expensive stuff to be cheaper in Australia. But it's closer to true random.

>forced to buy smaller volumes
I would rather buy half size bottles so that I could try twice as much
>at lower alcohol percentages
True in parts of the world, but Scotland doesn't have abv dependant taxes
>In the American market they need to compete with cheap bourbon
They don't. You do not have similar quality bourbon and scotch at similar prices at all. Bourbon is heavily favoured.
Furthermore the best markets for the consumer are ones where there is zero store competition, no local production, and a large range of spirits available. That way you can leverage the buying power of a nation, but don't run the risk of that government/company buying distilleries and only selling those cheaply.

Definitely not the drink that made wine "click" for me but it does seem better than some of the other stuff I gave a shot around that price point, if you're more of a wine guy you'd probably like it I'd wager.
Probably gonna reuse the bottle for rums and ports though.

Whenever I drink unless it’s an excessive amount like a whole half gallon, I don’t feel good at all and I just get really sweaty. If I feel anything it’s mostly just annoyed at not being drunk despite having payed for booze or else maybe I feel hungry. I don’t like the taste of any type of alcohol except a select few wines and I can’t stand the most common social drink, beer. I just hate booze so much and wish it wasn’t such a common social staple especially for college age kids like myself. Usually when I drink I overcompensate and drink so much so quickly that I instantly just pass out or else no matter how much I drink I get nothing. I don’t know what to do bros. The few times I’ve actually hit that perfect sweet spot of being drunk but not too drunk off of not too much has been really great though and I want to get there again, but I haven’t been able to since like March and before then it was even longer since the last time. I think it’s probably because drinking tend to make me hungry so I usually eat which makes me less drunk the entire rest of the night. Goddamnit bros I just wish I was a lightweight so bad I hate how much alcohol I have to drink to feel anything.

My favourite whisky is by Lagavulin though.

Sorry for blogposting in advance.

I went five days without drinking for the first time in a year until today.
I don't know how normal people stay sober desu.
Found out that my friend i had known for five years died from corona(met him while playing counter strike) his brother told me that he had died.
"My family would deeply appreciate it if some of his friends that we never got to know sent something." This line got me good.
It was nice seeing all of his friends from all over the world post some messages on his funeral page, it doesnt change anything but i hope his parents find something in the fact that their son has made such an impact on so many people from all over the world.

You should ask people from different countries around the globe for the prices of popular and widely available brands like Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, Makers Mark and Johnnie Walker Red, Ballantines, Glenfiddich, Laphroiag etc. and for the cheapest vodka you can get there. Other brands like Bacardi, Hennessy or similar things would also be interesting.
From what i've read the prices seem pretty random overall.
