Burritos aren't that great. As far as texture goes they sort of suck. Your run-of-the-mill mexican joint makes a large mushy thing. Tacos or other options are usually better.

That's why I like Chipotle burritos. The texture is nice between the rice, beans, corn, lettuce, meat. You can feel the components in your mouth. I like both styles of burrito and will eat the shit out of either of them but the interplay of texture in a freshly wrapped Chipotle burrito is way better than any mexican shop burrito I've ever had.

El Farolito, fruitvale district, International Blvd, Oakland, California. Carnitas with mexican rice, black bleans, pico de gallo, maybe guacamole, NO CHEESE or sour cream. the tortilla is grilled not steamed. this is one of the original Mission Burrito houses (they have a restaurant in san francisco). this is the best. the absolute best. meat, rice, salsas all have flavor. i like to get tiny containers of the hottest sauce they have, put a dollop on each bite. the worst is what i call the Ghetto Burrito, also in Oakland. super fat, twice the size as a regular burrito. refried beans, white rice, flavorless meat, tons of cheese and sour cream to give it flavor, salsa is boring. sold at restaurants that usually have a plastic window to keep from being robbed. chipotle is not bad though. close enough to a mission burrito to do in a pinch.
