Had a job cooking in a hotel for quarantined people in a hotel taken over by the government. Lost my job about a month and a half ago, and have since been camping because my employer was also paying for my housing. Sucks, some days.

I work in a kitchen and it’s shit. Have to wake up at 3am to get there by 5am and start cooking a packaging breakfast for an entire assisted living facility by myself. The pay is less than when I was working fast food despite being much more demanding.

Anyone thinking about becoming a cook instead of literally any other job, don’t.

Just work somewhere like Chipotle. They make you cut all the vegetables and cook the food mostly from scratch and it’s less stressful than working in an average commercial kitchen, especially if you’re trying to go to school at the same time. Most kitchen jobs don’t give a flying fuck about your schooling and will try and force you to come in on days you have class.
