Steak? That's dumb steak should be just steak by itself completely otherwise you ruin the natural stake flavor. My dad used to throw a phone book at me because I liked ketchup a lot as a kid. Learned my shit growing up though, don't fuck with steaks like that

It isn't a secret. It's etymology.

It is how we do It in Colorado. Trying to mess with a steaks flavor is a sin here. You cook medium rare and let It baste in its own juices for a few minutes. Don't cut it before it sits awhile because the flavor pours out of it. This works for any steak like deer and elk or beef.

This only works because colorado cows are given huge amounts of salt in their diet, allowing them to baste internally for years before slaughter. You really think a couple extra minutes of baste is gonna make a difference?

Whenever I make a vinaigrette I usually add in a bit of black pepper, and soy sauce for the salt plus a little savoriness.

I disagree here. There are many delicious vinegars, and many delicious acidic fruits that can join in. Salt and pepper are essential, but a minimum. Depending on the particulars, there are many delicious herbs, fresh or dried, that can really make things pop. Sometimes a bit of French Dijon mustard is needed, sometimes a bit of local honey. Sometimes zest of an orange, sometimes fresh dill. Sometimes Spanish cloudy olive oil, sometimes California avocado oil. It all depends on what you are trying to do. In one context, you should master the basics and have a go-to favorite, your statement is true. But saying your favorite is all anyone will ever need is fake, gay, and both fake & gay.
