Didn't really see any sausage rolls when I was in the States.

Why not? Would've thought Americans would've been all over this.

Nothing beats a good sausage rolls during lunch or in the morning before work.

Because good sausage rolls are usually the purview of proper bakeries, and those are sadly pretty rare. Greggs is overrated, I go for Coopland because I can get 4 rolls for a quid. Sure they may be worse but they're only a quarter the price.

In the South you can commonly find something similar called a "sausage biscuit," usually with sausage gravy in a dish called "biscuits 'n gravy."

Cuban beef pastelitos or any random latin country's meat-filled empanadas is the equivalent in Florida. Either goes nice with a mid-morning coffee break. The Ventanita (little window) where you order a walk-up coffee (probably leaving your car running right out front with the A/C still on), will have a warming glass case keeping your pastelitos hot and ready. You can have an ice water chaser from the pitcher on the counter before hopping back in your car.

I had a Greggs sausage roll when I was in England. I'm an American. Completely tasteless, and the texture was awful (granted, I ate it at room temp).
In America, pork sausage is supposed to be FULL of flavor, and it's either italian style (seasoned with fennel, peppers, oregano) or southern (flavored with sage and black pepper, sometimes cayenne). Didnt have any of that, and the fat bitch on her rascal scooter ordering four of them to be cooked up fresh dampened the whole experience. You guys make fun of the states, but Great Britannia definitely has their share of chunky monkeys.
Anyways, we also don't associate savory foods to cafés, which are the closest thing we have to the weird casual "cheap coffee and little savory cooked snacks" class of takeaway restaurants you have á la Greggs or Pret a Manger which dont really exist in the United States. Also pizza express pizzas are fucking soupy and you guys don't know how to cook french fries properly fuck you

So my local pizza joint has one of those long glass-enclosed counters where they serve pizza by the slice and garlic knots that they'll heat up in the oven for you for like, 2 dollars.

They also have Pic Related (those things in the center) Which they label as sausage rolls. They consist of your standard run of the mill pizza-bread wrapped around italian sausage mozzarella which they serve with a thing of marinara sauce.

Easily one of the best things on the menu for like, 2.50 and I can find them at any number of smilar family owned joints around the area. I think we're pretty well taken care of here in America mate.

But Texas is littered with small towns founded by Germans and Czechs that still make fucking great sausage rolls. Just follow I-20 west from Fort Worth and you'll come across several. I know for a fact there a re a couple near Cisco

TBF because of American “””advertising””” the lines are blurred on many cock-shaped-meat-foods. Differentiating between sausage; hot dog; and other things; such as, brats, frankfurters, and cured meats is difficult.
It’s quite annoying, and I’m absolutely sure in other countries the differentiation is much more solid. The only differentiation here is between things that are very obviously completely different, I.e. chorizo, hot links (bc of spiciness), etc.
