I think you mean Turkish. Greek culture does not exist anymore. Nor do Greek people. Greeks are very dark, sometimes even darker than Turks and their cuisine is mainly influenced by Turkish food. This is not Sparta is more like it.

They're manna from heaven. I think it's the slight creaminess from the fat of the meat marrying with the tart grapey pickling and rice starch. Who knows? I could finish that pictured platter within a day if parked in my fridge. The're just so amazing.

>Greeks are very dark, sometimes even darker than Turks
Turks have a big fat chip on their shoulder for being European or not counting as European depending who you ask, QQmore, and then there's the anti Armenian/anti Christian, pro muslim angle, making pork completely devoid in one cuisine and existing in the other. That religious food difference and religious difference, makes Turks hugely difference from Greeks in their recipes. Yes, there is a diaspora of other peoples and cultures within Greece, but I simply don't agree their food is Turkish, haha I bet you don't even know you are racist and not even talking from experience. You don't bring up skin color in talking about food, dummy. Next you're say that all Italians are swarthy Sicilians and they're the same people in that country and that their food is actually all Tyrolian. Regional food differences exist across countries. Fact. You're probably going to argue next that Isreali food is actually ______ food and not Isreali.

Greek (and in my experience, Portuguese) food is kind of an anomaly. Most of the time it's really not very good, but if you're actually in the country, and eating at a place using fresh ingredients, they know what the fuck they're doing. The best octopus I've ever had was in Naxos (yes, it's a real island), and it was literally just grilled and had basic seasoning with some fresh lemon but it was like eating rare filet or fatty tuna sashimi. It's the kind of thing you'll be dissapointed with if you just google a recipe, but when they pull it out of the bay an hour earlier and the guy who cooks it has been cooking it for decades it's like, "holy shit, this is really good". It's also like, "I would get sick of this very quickly if I had to eat it every day", which is why America will always be number 1.

Is there another name for this stuffed grape leaves? I thought it was called something else when at a dinner hosted by a neighbor. Had all kinds of med food, I specifically remember these, some tabbouleh and baklava for dessert.

Maybe it was dolma, been a solid 10 years since I had it. Think they were Lebanese if that mattered. I also forget the real name for stuffed cabbage that my grandma always told me, she was Lithuanian and had a real name but always called them pigs in a blanket. Only ever heard it again from a Russian expat years later. Every time I google it I find a different word.

>> No.14258577

>>14258492
I was exaggerating.
You don't have to pull off every leaf to ruin a harvest. The vines need the leaves to produce enough sugars for the grapes, so without enough of them the wine's going to be shit.
A bunch of these cunts roll up to a vineyard in minivans, strip off sacks of leaves and then sell them to friends, family or even restaurants.

It's like gypsies seeing an unsecured worksite.
