Minced garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, chopped onions.

Put american cheese on top to melt after you flip it. Toast bun. Top with ketchup and mustard.

>> No.14253347

Kosher salt, fine black pepper, garlic powder. Deep sear on both sides, cooked medium to medium well. Piled high with shitty Kraft slices, toasted buns, dill pickles, thin-sliced onions, and spicy BBQ sauce. Tomatoes only if they're from a farmers market, butter lettuce if its picked fresh.

Why the fuck would you idiots put salt on meat before cooking it? It draws out the moisture from basically anything you put it on and leaves it in the frypan, completely wrecks meat before you've even half cooked it.
The sauce will have more than enough salt anyway and if you need more do it while preparing the burg.
Fucking retards.

What do you guys think of this method?

TL;DW: First, she minces and salts raw onions and lets it sit for 30 minutes. Then she rinses the excess salt off the onions and mixes it with ground beef before forming patties and cooking.

Her rational is that since the salt is in the onions and not the beef it doesn't develop a sausage-like texture like you'd get if you if you mixed the salt into the ground beef directly but it's also more evenly salted than if you were to just salt the outside of the patty. The onions also add moisture.

Do you think this a good technique or would the texture become overly meatloaf-ish? There are no breadcrumbs so I think it should be fine.

If you have a trader joes nearby they sell a spice mix called "21 Seasoning Salute" which I've found makes basically everything better. I'm sure someone could do better for their personal tastes but in terms of a premix you can just buy and put on stuff it's quite good.
