So my good friend is turning 20 tomorrow and she will throw a big party. She asked me to help her plan the dinner. There will be 40 or so hungry teenagers, and her food budget is somewhere up to 100€. She isnt able to cook or grill or anything so her food choices are limited to restaurants and already made or very easy-to-make and simple food. Any ideas what to serve to 40 people for 100€ or less? Pizzas are one of the obvious choices but she wants something different. Can you bros help me out with this?

40 people are NOT going to be fed on a measly $100. That's a lot of hungry people and they're going to want seconds. I think one of the best things you can do is make giant pots of something and have it buffet style. So why not a large DIY nacho bar? This way they can pick and choose what they want, eat as much as they want and refilling the bowls and shit is cheap and easy.

You can do other things besides nachos, like a thick beef stew or chowder in DIY bread bowls or something like that. Google "American super bowl buffets" and see if any of those ideas inspire you.

An alternative to nacho buffets are tacos, but not everyone eats meat, so there's that to think about.

Simple cheese quesadillas with salsa and sour cream. Refried brand and rice on the side. You could maybe feed 40 people with 100 bucks worth, maybe.

Think about this man. Family of 4 dining out $60. And, you want to feed 40ppl at that amount? You're going to have to ask people to chip in more money to pool it for pizza takeout, or bring things. Then, forget about actually eating anything all those dirty hands prepared. Sometimes to be cheap, I will pick up buns, make homemade cole slaw and potato salad (both cheap), shuck some corn to boil and maybe a big casserole like baked beans or mac n cheese (expensive to do right), or cut up some watermelon, and only get sliced pork by the pound from an actual restaurant. Right now, I'd say you could put a whole brisket in the oven, couple pork shoulders in crock pots, and feed a lot of people, but you need about 8-12hrs to do a whole brisket right(day before to be safe, then slice and sauce it and warm it through). Make it pork carnitas, and go mexican, and you can introduce beans as some filler for the crowds. Can also crock pot some cajun food for cheap, big jambalayas, big etouffee, or roast veggies plus jamaican rice some jerk in a crock pot, you can make like 80 beef patties and have some hot made hot sauces, and rice. One big paella (can you cater that?), or some big roasting pans to mock that up, big frozen bags of imported cheap shrimp in there plus the chicken.

Provide a quite large and very nice cake, some ice cream and paper plates/spoons, iced tea, and say "BYOB and bring your own food, it's covid time, sorry, gotta be safe" and let it stand there like that.

So for all of you saying it cant be done, you are wrong. Im not from US or some country where food is exspensive... ive done the math and it can work out fine. In my country you can get kebabs/burgers from regular bendors for 2-3€ and pizzas for around 6-8€...

Also thanks to all that gave me suggestions!

Without cooking it still sounds rather sketch. If the party is going to be outside just do something on a coal grill like roasted veggies, fish and meats. Could probably do burgers safely enough if your local places sell good mince or storebought patties aren't too nasty - everything tastes better off a grill regardless

Uhhh, hello - we are still currently experiencing a pandemic of a virus which can KILL. I don't think government advice allows you to hold gatherings and even if there wasn't any advice it most certainly is not recommended. I suggest you cancel it and celebrate another time or have a vastly scaled down party.

Covidiots I swear...
