If you buy bulk garlic unprocessed like I do, and you throw in three to six cloves of garlic into your food constantly like I do, then get a garlic press.
A garlic press was probably my best purchase considering those needs.
if you like making candies, want to fry foods at better temps, or are a tea fag, invest in a meat thermometer too.

OP, I went through two do-overs from natural disasters, Things below are mandatory for me, lol. Think about your new cabinet space situation. Get 1 brand of nesting, stackable cookware if needed.

Various silicone spoonulas, spatulas, tongs. Air insulated cookie sheets, silpat, flexible thin cookie and pie server spatulas, pie crust protectors (no more foil!). For holiday roast great gravy, a large graniteware covered roaster. Super foamy bialetti brikka, greek hand cranked mill for coffee or spices, coffee scooper that clamps a bag closed, jar pop, edge can opener, microplanes, one handed lime squeezer, tupperware onion keepers and melting ice cream scoop, snapware produce keepers, pyrex freezable microwaveable vented lid dishes for leftovers, tomato knife, bagel knife spreader, pressure cooker for stocks (guess instant pot counts), instant thermometer, vacu vin wine stoppers are great to keep a couple wines next to the stove fresher longer like sherry, marsala or some vermouth for deglazing reasons, everyone loves corncob holders and metal skewers for shishkabobs at BBQs, silver grapefruit spoons, marrow spoons (have fun on replacementsltd catalog, zoku popsicle molds (pour that mojito or kahlua coffee right in there), carving cutting board, thin flexible cutting board set, black and decker mini processor <-- use this thing way more than I thought I would $3 goodwill. I quickly pulsed some creamy pepita-avocado salad dressing in it most recently. I also have a copycat of the "bullet" kind of mini blender, was gifted to me when my sibling bought a vacation condo and didn't want the "furnished" items left behind.. I find that I use the little 1 cup blender cup to make sweetened whipped cream often, just 3 seconds and done. I pour it on fresh strawberries or on top of iced coffee, then tuck it into the top rack dishwasher.

If a bread loaf is strong enough to allow itself to be sliced like that it's probably hard as a rock. When the end gets toasted and left alone it will be as dry and brittle as one too. There's a limited time between when toast is edible and when it becomes a grainy roof tile.

Ridiculously overbuilt "juicer" that cost 400$ and actually only squeezed juice bags that contained organic, detox and other buzzword fruit and veg. It wasn't even a juicer, just squeezed and pressed the bags really. You could only get the bag in monthly 40$ subscriptions (5 bags), couldn't buy just bags without owning the device.

It was connected to the internet/your phone and after some time they made it so you can only use their proprietary juice bags and wouldn't juice a bag that was past the expiration date. Expiration date was 8 days so I think these retards paid 40$ a month for 5 bags that could only be used for the first 8 days.

After some article came out that showed you can squeeze the bags just fine with your hands and get the same amount of juice, the founder was super butthurt and tried to defend it. Retarded boomer investors were also surprised that the bags could be hand squeezed. The company went to shit very soon

After that, the pseudospiritual idiot founder started selling raw water - untreated spring water potentially full of bacteria and parasites. Now I'll always drink some spring water when hiking, but he was bottling it and selling to brainlets in California. Either he's a good grifter or even worse, believes all his shit.

These gadgets are often entirely useless. Be very, very wary of any plastic shit that claims it's super convenient. Most times there is a better method, like just cracking the egg on the table like a normal person.
Learn to cook before you start buying random gadgets thinking they'll make you a better cook.

>Back in early 2016, Engadget Senior Editor Andrew Tarantola spent some time with the Kuvée, a sort-of Keurig for wine, and was impressed with its features but wary about its prospects. "Do you want to be the schmuck who blows two Benjamins on this thing only to have the company fold, thereby rendering the entire system useless? I sure don't," he wrote. Well, it turns out Andrew was right. According to Business Insider, the company is now shutting down.
>The system consisted of a "bottle" with a WiFi enabled touch screen. The bottle was hollow; it took proprietary wine cartridges you could only buy from Kuvée. These cost anywhere from $15 to $50 (the initial bottle sleeve, along with four cartridges, cost $178). The system would keep the wine fresh for up to a month, and you could order new bottles (Kuvée promised around 50 varieties at launch) straight from the touch screen.

The guy that invented it... wanted to be the Steve Jobs of the kitchen or something.

This is how a bad the overbuilt piece of junk was... the original idea was to do a counter top cold press juicer.

The problem is to do cold press requires an amount of tonnage you can't get in the average kitchen.

So they developed a juicer that couldn't juice!

... so the compromise was the bags masticated fruit that you could they squeeze the juice from, which didn't require the 1000 pounds of force the juicero did.

Now!

here's what they should've done.

Take the Juicero, right? And treat it like a food saver instead of a keurig.

Buy the juicero, then buy the bags from the company, masticate your own fruits and vegetables (which is easy with like... graters and food processors) place in SINGLE USE BAG and then let the press do it's thing.

Then say that "A typical bag of hard fruits and vegetables, properly masticated, should get between 1 to 3 glasses of juice" and the sell the bags at like... 4 dollars a bag.

(Oh, yyeah. And while the company was imploding, the founder was off at Burning Man doing mescaline.)
