I'm slowly changing my diet, I intend to adopt a plant based diet, eating meat just two to three times a week. I'm struggling to find any good vegan/vegetarian recipes.

Healthy fats, lean protein, the taste of the ocean, an abundant variety of crustaceans and fish to choose from. Vegans are fags but so are carnists. There is nothing shittier than industrial, hormone pumped, chicken/beef/pork. It's all a bunch of SHIT. People in America eat far too much of it and I hope they all die. Farmed fish sucks too stay the fuck away from farmed fish or else you're a fag.

You don't have to be an ex-vegan to actually like some vegan and vegetarian dishes. Most people who say they're meat eaters say it in opposition to people claim they're vegan or vegetarian, to most people it's just a normal diet to sometimes have meat and sometimes not.

That being said, of course the ex-vegan makes a claim about themselves based on their food identity and manages to come off sounding superior to the people who just did what he did all along.

Sushi isn't vegan. It has fish in it. The shit you call "vegan sushi" in the west is called a rice ball in Japan.
In fact, sushi (originally narezushi) it was a dish of fish fermented in rice. The rice was originally discarded and not even eaten.

I believe the poster says the butter gets it's golden color due to the season. Milk in the summer comes from a diet in very rich grass that gets tons of sun and is grown in high quality soil. Maybe in the later months when there is less sun the butter will be less pigmented.
I don't think it would come from dandelions since most of them go to seed by summertime.

This makes sense to me. The eggs I am getting now from my neighbors free range, pasture raised (self certified) chickens have yolks a similar color to this. Pic related.

Retard this is what butter should look like. It gets the color because it's from cows that are raised on a pasture and fed with grass nearly exclusively. The more yellow, the better- as it indicates higher vitamin A, D (especially), E, B12, & K2 content. The shit you buy at the store is that wretched white color because it comes from grain fed cows which are, in general, subject to worse conditions (think factory farming) than a cow raised on a pasture. Store butter is also made from pasteurized cream, where as what anon has is most likely raw butter.

>> No.14206232

>>14202775
Deep yellow, almost orange color is what you want. Looks like a good egg to me. It gets this way as you mentioned, because the chickens are raised on a pasture, so they get ample sunlight. Biggest factor though is their diet. A healthy chickens diet consists of worms, lizards, bugs, etc... Perfectly safe to eat raw as well.

Never fully understood veganism. Well I guess I do understand it, but see no need for it personally. Eat what you want and justify it how you need to, but it should never be an all or nothing decision based upon a hardline ideology that ignores the complexity of reality. Either side has extreme and/or vocal advocates and the mentality is akin to tribalism, us vs them, bending facts to fit their bias. Things often are what they are ... rich and complex.

This can be taken as an attempt to justify meat eating, but I'm not trying to do that. I was a vegetarian for a long time and while I do currently eat meat it is pretty infrequently, 10-15lb a year.

Typically people are vegan as opposed to simply not eating much meat because they believe it is unethical to use an animal as a product. Just leave it there. They believe something. Don't need to drag often suspect data, nebulous evolutionary biology and socioeconomic musings into the mix.

Equally meat fanatics. How boring. Beef, pork, chicken, lamb. Rinse and repeat in an endless succession of very similar meals. Stack up your portions of prepared and plastic packages each week. Routine. Stagnation. Why even defend it?

The younger guys I work with usually can't imagine anything better than chicken, bacon and cheese. That is about all they want to eat. Suddenly at some point in their mid 20's they seem to realise they are bored of it and pissed off with never shitting.

Again though, do whatever actually makes you happy as long as you have the faculties to critically reflect upon your decisions. You don't need ideology.

Hmm, weird how people categorize me as a meat fanatic, but I am against industrial ag and promote supporting small local farms and self certifying ethical practices through actually seeing the animals and how they are raised, and even slaughtered. I also support wholesaling and livestock shares, even learning how to break down primal cuts, therefore eliminating the need for cellophane wrapped styrofoam individual serving packaging. I also encourage eating nose to tail, and not trimming precious fat that can be rendered and used for not only cooking but also for things like soaps and cosmetics and other industrial uses.

I’m not even a “carnivore” I grow my own crops and manage land, with the hopes of restoring it. So much of the worlds fertile lands are degraded and poisioned, sprayed with ‘cides and artificial fertilizers, industrial mechanized tilling releases massive amounts of carbon, far more than a cows belch could ever hope to in his or her lifetime. Tilling is literally the equivalent of peeling the Earths skin off and exposing her tender flesh underneath.

If humans did what they were born to do instead of what they were told to do, they would return to their natural habitat and resume their role as stewards of the land.

Did you know that the United States was managed land before the settlers arrived? Native Americans found an agricultural system that was sustainable and regenerative. Herds of bison recorded to be 50 miles long packed with no visible pasture between them, and passanger pidgeons (now extinct) would blacken the skies for 3 days as they migrated.

Humanity is like the very hands we hold in front of us. We can use them to harm or we can use them to heal.

Choose wisely.

I went vegan once for two years but had to quit because of health reasons and because (for whatever reason) it was psychologically daunting. I didnt care all that much that I couldnt eat meat, but I felt that it had more to do with lacking essential nutrients that plants cant effectiently provide. For example, I used to think that (if I ate the daily amount of protein I'm supposed to eat) that I would be fine. But, the problem was that I defecient in protein because no one told me how little of protien I ate was actually usable protein. Of course, I found that out well after I quit from some pretty obscure sources that you have to really dig for. But regardless, I almost immediately started feeling better after eating meat. I was eating the recommended amount of protein per day and mixing the tofu and beans (my main sources of protein) in with recipes I found online. I'm not going to go vegan again with the knowledge I know and eat 5 fucking cans of beans a day. That simply is not going to happen. Also, quit with the dur "soy doesnt effect estrogen levels in the body" hur. That literally only applies to asians because theyve been eating it for thousands of years. I had frequent mood swings and I swear I grew tits over that shit too and I was fucking skinny (they werent large but they were noticable).

I don't think there is anything wrong with killing animals for food despite having alternatives, as long as they're not being slowly cooked alive or some shit. The problem is industrial farming.

I don’t need everyone engaging in land stewardship. Just go back to the pre 1970s numbers, which was like, 5 percent of Americans.

Today it’s 1 percent.
You don’t think 4 percet of people in urban dilbert cubiclesdon’t dream of a more meaningful life closer to nature, bathed in sunlight, fresh air, and green grass?

Technology will of course follow humanity, but imagine an app on a college canvas that could tell students that the strawberries in front of the engenieering building were ripe for picking?

In fact, regenerative farms regularly use modern technology. Lightweight electric fencing to keep predators out, automatic doors to move trained cattle to the next paddock, with cameras to make sure nothing goes wrong while the herds move.
There is advanced soil testing in universities right now checking the carbon sequestration and organic matter changes of regeneratively managed soil vs conventional vs unmanaged.
Just because I say we should look back, doesn’t mean I’m saying we should go back to being cave people.
Farming has changed so much in 50 years, what the hell do you think it should or could look like in another 50?

Regenerative farming is growing, and I hope it kills this hyper industrial, hyper globalized, petroleum demanding system of growing, harvesting, processing, adulterating, transporting, transmuting, and packaging millions of acres of near useless, government subsidized, artificially cheap cash crop based system.

I think the real issue is drawing a dichotomy between "office life" and living with nature. I recall reading about some guy in new jersey making what he called a "food forest", basically he ripped out all the turf grass in his back yard, planted fruit and nut trees, plus edible perennials. Looked like the garden of Eden.

I think an ideal solution would be neighborhoods collectively managing large scale versions of this, basically forming little nano-states. With the riots, people are throwing the idea around of downsizing the police in favor of armed "community patrols", which I think also plays into this idea. Humans are only built to deal with so many other individuals before our brains just don't work properly. We should focus on building communities where everyone knows everyone, and its in everyone's best interest to watch out for everyone else.

For me, I think a good solution would be for the cities to depopulate. There's plenty of people who can move out and repopulate the countryside.
Rural areas of the "civilized" world are actually dying. Most small rural areas in the united states are practically ghost towns, with many shops boarded up. The place I live in had a hospital 40 years ago but due to depopulation its now just an assisted living center.
No time would be better than now for people to go to small towns and start businesses.

Except I didnt have tons upon tons of money to have "a proper vegan diet". I couldnt go out and buy whatever the fuck I wanted like you are doing in your moms basement. I did the best I could do with what I had and obeyed strict dietary (yet flawed like the protein) guidelines.

Don't worry, seriously.
Veganism by default is a deficient diet. If you require a multivitamin or any sort of supplementation without having any health issues you are eating a deficient diet.
Also I do extensive research on how all foods are made, I seriously can't figure out how the fuck supplements are made, all I can find is some really shady shit that involves kerosene and waste products from pet food, camera film production (this was outdated info, I'm sure that the byproduct from electronics is still a thing though), and processed food to make supplements.
It's creepy, I wouldn't eat supplements unless I had a medical issue and nothing else worked.

You didn't fail veganisim, veganisim failed you.

The guys in pic related tried to eat just rice beans and bananas while working like a 3rd world worker in Guatemala who would make a dollar a day, they end up getting horribly sick, end up changing their diet to corn and lard, then they feel better.

Tell me anon. Have you lived off of rice and beans while working a manual job outdoors in blistering heat for 12 hours a day?
