BEHOLD! The one and only superfood! Fry this bad boy up with some onions, maybe some bacon and mushrooms if you need to and BOOM! your liver will be thanking you for eating liver.

The true mans food.

You should have it with bacon. Liver, onion, and bacon with added red wine for the reduction. Richest, most flavourful gravy you will ever make. Serve with mashed potatoes. You’re all welcome.

It’s softer than kidney, texture-wise. In terms of taste, it’s probably a little more subtle but has a slightly distinctive after-taste that’s hard to describe. Not at all unpleasant, and, like I say, it produces the most godly gravy on earth. Very rich and tasty. If you like steak and kidney pud, you should have no problems enjoying it. You can have it in fried strips (floured before frying) but I prefer it in chunks and then slow-cooked for a while along with the bacon and onion, and a little sage and garlic.

I like liver better than kidney, but it depends on whether you prefer the taste of iron or urea.

the damage done by chronic alcohol will not be undone by eating liver. There's a few things happening, like the depletion of glutathione, overloading your liver enzymes, and subsequent imbalance of nadp/nadph. This stuff is pretty acute, specific, and highly regulated so we haven't figured out a way to prevent it besides cutting down on alcohol. By all means take some glutathione or other supplements, but the best thing you can do is reduce alcohol. I say this as a filthy drunk myself who hasn't figured out how to do that yet so good luck man.

incorrect I tried eating it back in college on friday they gave you a choice of liver or fish, I hate fish so I ate the liver smothered in hot sauce.

fast forward 30 years and the wife and I decide to try it. cooked it up we both tried a couple of bites and nearly puked. My dad who has no taste buds or sense of smell ate it no problem. but he would eat a fried turd if you didn't tell him what it was. we threw it all away.

just a sickening blood clot game meat irony taste that was just completely off putting.

sorry man, but you have a baby palate. At best you've had shitty cooks prepare these things for you, as both easily ruined by overcooking (which is not uncommon). I would invite you to buy some chicken livers, soak them in milk overnight, then saute in butter and herbs (whatever you like, lemon juice and garlic are also nice) but DO NOT OVERCOOK, they should still be slightly pink inside. They will still have some irony flavor, but try to embrace it, it's good I promise

The strong and mineral flavor of liver does well with acids and fats, preferably together. You could try something spicy or citrusy and eat with soft cheese or buttery vegetables or rice.

I am personally partial to tomato with liver, especially beef, and chicken liver does very well with asian flavors, as well as just herbs.

WRONG YOU FUCKING MORON I have an advanced palate I am sick of hearing if you taste something better than other people you are a child. I smell and taste food way better than anyone I have ever met. That's why fish and liver taste like shit. I can recreate a recipe from just tasting and smelling something.

Your like the moron who told me to cook trout wrapped in bacon. So I tried it all I could think when I tasted it was "FUCK I just ruined a good piece of bacon" I threw it all out.

Also we did the milk soak it did not help. You don't get it some people don't like things and there is no recipe on earth that will make that thing taste good. GET OVER IT!
