Post your daily sippers.
Current glass is Russel's 10.

i just ran out of four roses. what should i buy next

Looking for something sub$30 like four roses is? I'd try Old Forester signature. A little bit more and you can get Woodford..Buffalo Trace, Russel's 10..
In my eyes the $30-$40 bracket in bourbon really shines, where if you'd try to sip any other cheap spirit neat at that price range it'd be an exercise in misery.

I drink Jim Beam white. I got a bottle of Woodford Reserve recently, I didn't like it at first.

After some air got into the bottle, it seems to taste a lot better. Really like it now. Anyone else have this happen?

just finishing this one. loved it for the kick and the price.

I'm going on a one-week dry spell just to make sure I'm not getting *too* used to an everyday drink.

I'm not at home so i cant post it, but my current daily is 4roses single barrel. i think rum might be more my speed than whiskey though, i've whittled a bottle of goslings family reserve down to the last few glasses and have a bottle of kirk and sweeney 18 on the way.

I've also got a bottle of wray & nephews but im a stranger to anything above 55% abv and the few times ive tried drinking it neat have been tough.

anyone /rum/ here that can tell me what im getting into with kirk and sweeney? any recommendations on what to get next?

This is what I have on hand right now. I've pretty much decided on the Botanist as my go to gin, but wouldn't mind finding something a little cheaper that's still floral for daily drinking. Laphroaig and Ardbeg are there because I haven't had a decent Scotch in a long time. I need to start branching out into non-Islay Scotches, though. Bulleit is just what's on hand presently for a daily whiskey - also like Woodford a lot but haven't explored much beyond that. Reservoir is my first foray into local stuff and it's amazing. Expensive, though.

Biggest differences between Laphroaig and Ardbeg in your opinion?

>> No.14173996

Current main ones (depending on if it's a whisky, rum or brandy night):
Carhu Gold
Chairman's Reserve
Remy Martin 1738

Got quite a bit in at the moment, so I cycle around.

To me Laphroaig is basically one dimensionally smokey (that's not really a bad thing) in a Latakia pipe tobacco way, where Ardbeg is a little more camp firey and has some other traditional whisky notes like caramel and vanilla.

Laphroaig is smoky with briney and medicinal flavors. Ardbeg is smoky with citrus/pineapple flavors.

I have both of those bottles of Russel’s, but always end up back to WT101. Usually, on the rocks, but had some in pint glass with lemonade after doing a bunch of yard work yesterday.

Most bottles are sized for standard corks or caps, you're going to have to do some real hunting for limited run bottles.

Or just use a mason jar.

My brother is a raging alky, and after years of buying literally a bottle of bourbon a day, and trying dozens of different kinds, he settled on EW as his go to. It's decent enough, very cheap, and gets the job done.
