Yeah, burned that one a bit. They are light brown on the other side, though not mustered. I used normal milk, egg, salt, sugar, flour and oil for the batter.

sounds normal. I hope you rub each one in butter when you finish it. I also recommend experimenting with different types of milk if you have them. I make my blins with kefir. I also add some baking soda and boiling water as well, but i'll be frank that I don't know why, just my mom always did it this way.
