I love milk and cheese but just a week back I would get diarrhea after I ate some cheese and crackers.

Ice cream, grilled cheese, milk and cookies.
Gone.
Why me?

Just keep eating it
Eventually your body will fight back and get used to it

Damn is it that bad? I got diagnosed as lactose intolerant this year actually. If I drink straight milk I get awful gas and some bloating but otherwise nothing too bad. I still eat cheese and haven't noticed it affecting me in any way. Same with cottage cheese and yogurt. I'm sad about milk but considering all the other dairy I'm eating and suffering no consequences I guess I got off easy. They do make lactose milk though, have you tried that?

I look into it. I just wish there was a way to get rid of it. I didn't always have it how does something like this just happen all of a sudden.

What kind of cheese? If it was a hard cheese then they don't have enough lactose to cause a problem even for lactose intolerant people. It was either something else or you developed an allergy to milk protein which isn't likely either.

Some people have trouble digesting lactose if they don't regularly consume it, their body just stops producing the required bacteria or whatever else in their digestive system to break it down properly. But if they have small amounts of milk at first like just a few spoonfuls, and slowly increase the amount every few days, it helps their body get used to having the lactose again.

How is that a genetic problem? Your body produces different bacteria for digestion depending on what you eat, and if you suddenly throw in something new it can cause some digestive troubles until it adjusts but it eventually goes away.

It actually is, you can develop a tolerance by eating lactose consistently. But you'll suffer many an instance of gastrointestinal distress on your journey as well as if you ever stop for a significant period and start again.

for whatever reason your body doesn't have lactase, the enzyme that breaks lactose down into galactose and glucose. Good news for you is you can either add lactase to the food before you eat it, or take a pill containing lactase when you eat lactose. Just be careful to check what you eat otherwise you could miss taking lactase and accidentally shit yourself.

lactose intolerance is just another mayo myth, it only affects people if they drink more than a pint of milk

if you're shitting after eating cheese then the lactose isn't an issue
