That variety of mango isn't the best, it doesn't have as much flavor and it's more fibrous, only reason it's popular is because it's easier to grow/transport.

Try to look for other varieties, like a honey mango. A lot more flavor and hardly any fibers. Wait to eat it until it's starting to get a little soft, and it's pretty great.
